Memorializing Memories
Memories of those lost and events past can be special.
We often memorialize the special people or events in our life and our country.
Me·mo·ri·al·ize: to remember a person or event, or to show that you remember them:
In the US we celebrate Memorial Day today, memorializing those lost defending our country, and many, as did my family, extend that to remembering all that have passed on.
There is so much to learn from our past, and memories can be a wonderful thing if we use them to learn from, and celebrate the positive things that have happened.
But, you don’t want to live in, or get stuck in the past.
Keep moving forward.
Memories can empower you to move forward and be better because of those who were with you and have lived the journey before.
It can help you learn and grow.
“There are special people in our lives who never leave us, even after they are gone.” - D. Morgan
Even though they are not with you anymore, their spirit and life lessons never leave you.
You can use that for encouragement to move on.
You can smile because of the blessings they left behind.
“Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.” - Dr. Seuss
Life is really meant to be lived joyfully.
Taking what often is sad moments and the feeling of loss, and turning them into motivation to make a difference and a better life.
It is moments of the heart.
“The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched, they must be felt with the heart.” - Helen Keller
With your heart you can be a difference-maker, a world-changer. You can impact your world for the better.
This is where we find significance.
So remember what Winnie The Pooh said…
“If ever there is a tomorrow when we're not together, there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart, I'll always be with you.”
Our memories and the people we memorialize are always with us in spirit, driving us forward to a better future.
You can be braver, stronger, and smarter than you ever thought, if you only believe.
Trust God and move forward to a better tomorrow. Even when you are sad today.
As my dad always said, “Tomorrow is a new day!”
Be Blessed and remember…
You get to “Live the Life You Choose!”
Blessings!
