Overcoming Morning Anxiety

When I wake up, I am already stressed and worried about my day and all I have to accomplish…

Is this you?

It often begins with the information you were consuming the night before. Books, social media, text messages, conversations with family and friends, etc. It is important to be intentional about what you are thinking about before you go to bed.

“What you think about, you bring about.” - Bob Proctor

It affects you, your mindset and perspective, all you do, and how you wake up in the morning.

Next, what are you putting into your mind when you wake up? I am a big fan of self-talk. I talk about this in my book “Befuddled? Live the Life You Choose!”

The following is a quote from chapter 1, “Fighting Through the Noise.”

“Each morning when I wake up, before I get out of bed, I tell myself three things.

First, that I am thankful for God, my beautiful wife, my family, my life, and the day to come.

Second, I tell myself I’ve got this. I know that with God’s help I can conquer the day.

And third, I declare it’s going to be an awesome day!

These are choices I make and communicate to myself every morning and this shapes my attitude and focus for the day ahead.

Give it a try...

  1. Be thankful

  2. You’ve got this

  3. Today is going to be awesome!

BE THANKFUL

Beginning with the right mindset, gets your day off to a great start.

Next, I have my morning routine of good habits that include reading, prayer, and journaling. Also, I have a workout routine each morning. This gets me started on the right foot for the day.

It’s important we get started the right way because there’s so many things in this life that are vying for our attention. All the noise around us is calling to us asking us to pay attention! Many times, without clear goals and direction, we are a servant to whatever comes our way.

We need to take life one small step at a time. Just one small thing after the other. Small things soon become big things. I love the quote,

“One small positive thought in the morning can change your whole day.” -unknown

It’s true, it can!

YOU’VE GOT THIS! “

I go on talking about how to intentionally shape your mindset each day and thus shape the actions of your day.

Start by remembering to… think about what you think about.

As Craig Groeschel says, “Your life is always moving in the direction of your strongest thoughts.”

Be intentional about overcoming morning anxiety and fear by inputting your own positive data through positive self-talk and other positive sources. You can fill your mind in a positive way and thus overcome the negative and anxious thoughts.

No matter what your circumstances in life, you can restore a positive perspective by being intentional and building good habits each morning.

Remember, “Life Happens, and then you Choose!”

Blessings!
